Nancy M. Minett

Ms. Minett received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Mount Holyoke College in 1979, cum laude in English, and her Juris Doctor degree from the Catholic University of America’s Columbus School of Law in 1982, where she was a Moot Court Vice Chancellor and a member of Law Review.  She was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1983.

After graduation, Ms. Minett worked as an Assistant District Attorney in Brooklyn for seven years, trying misdemeanor and felony cases, and supervising investigations and trials for the Arson and Economic Crime Bureau.  Ms. Minett spend more than a quarter century in financial services compliance and enforcement. As Compliance Counsel for the COMEX and NYMEX, Ms. Minett investigated and prosecuted violations of futures exchange rules by members and member firms.  She was promoted to Vice President of Compliance and oversaw a team of attorneys and investigators handling all aspects of Compliance for NYMEX.  After the merger of NYMEX and CME into the world’s largest futures exchange, Ms. Minett oversaw investigations into violations of CME, CBOT, COMEX and NYMEX rules as Executive Director of Investigations.  Ms. Minett has consulted for futures exchanges and Swap Executions Facilities.

Returning to her roots as a criminal attorney, she joined the Terezakis Law Firm in December 2017, where she is putting her English degree and investigative skill to work in criminal and immigration law, drafting affidavits and motions.  In her spare time, Ms. Minett volunteers for St. Anne’s Church, Sacred Heart Academy, as an alumni representative for Mount Holyoke College and as president of the Friends of the Garden City Public Library.
